Peter loved the Lord with his whole heart. He knew the Lord, but he didn’t know himself. Peter was wide-eyed about everything around him except himself. But Jesus knew Peter to the core. He predicted Peter would change, and he did change because he finally saw a love that would not quit.

SERMON SERIES
A Thoughtful Hour:
Jesus’ Encounters in the Light of the Cross

We are engaging with a new sermon series theme, focusing on some encounters Jesus had with others at the end of His life. We are told that “It would be well for us to spend a thoughtful hour each day in contemplation of the life of Christ . . . especially on the closing [moments of His life]” (The Desire of Ages, 83), and that is what we plan to do.

August 1—Jesus and Peter: The Self-Deceived
August 8—Jesus and Satan: The Archenemy
August 15—Jesus and Pilate: The Powerful
