About Us

Vision

We seek to become the kind of church described in the Bible, where there’s relevant teaching, heart-changing worship, warm fellowship, earnest prayer, and growth in Jesus.

Mission

Our Mission is to be an evangelistic congregation, which is committed to a heart- changing church and life experience. Our church services and evangelistic outreaches will have clear, powerful Biblical messages and outstanding music. Visitors will be greeted warmly and a personal contact will be established with them. Our aim is to maintain an evangelistically-minded church the entire year. The East Ridge Seventh-day Adventist Church is a new congregation of Christians who are passionate about sharing the Gospel of Christ and His end time message with our families, friends and neighbors.

We believe the Gospel is much more than simply forgiveness for our sins.  It is also the presence of Christ in our lives each day to guide us, comfort us, and empower us to live faithfully for Him. The gospel contains God’s power to prepare us for His soon coming.

The entire church family is encouraged to be actively engaged in the ministry of the church. We all have unique spiritual gifts and abilities that need to be cultivated, nurtured, and utilized with fellow believers.

We invite you to come and grow with us, as we prepare and work for our Lord's soon return.

Our Core Values

The Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is primarily through the Bible that Christ communicates with His people. In both the Old and New Testament, God has recorded His will for mankind as a light shining in a dark place. ALL scripture in the Bible is inspired.

The Life, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ form the heart of the gospel. For our sake Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, lived as a man, experienced human life and died on the cross in sacrifice for our sins. He was resurrected the third day and ascended into heaven where He now ministers in the heavenly sanctuary. Accepting by faith His perfectly obedient life and His substitutionary death, any person may be accounted righteous in God's sight. Faith also brings a change of life or new birth experience. His resurrection gives assurance to Christ’s people of being resurrected from their sleep at His second coming and living with Him throughout eternity.

The Holy Sprit is the agent of conversion on our earth. Jesus lives in His people through His Spirit. He enables them to live victoriously, experiencing the new birth which is the abundant life. The Spirit is manifested in one’s life and causes a change in the person’s character. This change is seen in the fruits of the Spirit. As part of this conversion, Christ’s Spirit gives believers abilities known as "spiritual gifts" that enable them to serve Him and build up His kingdom on earth. One of these gifts, the Spirit of Prophecy, is an identifying characteristic of God's last-day (or remnant) people on earth.

We want to live obedient, Christ-like, healthful lives. While with His people Jesus was obedient to the will of His Father in every area of His life. He led a perfect, sinless life. This righteous life He offers is ours by faith. His obedience is an example to His disciples so that they too will love God supremely and serve their fellow man selflessly. Jesus calls His followers to respect their bodies as "temples" where He lives, bought with the high price of His blood. Thus, obedient lives, healthful living and Christian behavior are to be a goal of all believers.

The seventh day is the Sabbath, the Lord’s 24-hour day to worship Him and rest. As followers of Jesus Christ, we are privileged to spend an entire day on the seventh day (Saturday) of each week with Him. He called Himself Lord of this day and He faithfully observed each Sabbath. Because He initiated it during creation week (before the entrance of sin), Jesus desired that all of His people would keep this day as a memorial to His creative power. He also reminded us that His Sabbath is a sign of His power to deliver us from the power of sin. It is, indeed, the Lord's Day. This weekly Sabbath is a sign of the rest we have in Christ now and a foreshadowing of the rest Jesus will one day give His people in Heaven! The Lord Jesus is our strength and song. Music is a key element of worship and can be a tremendous power for good or evil. Therefore, music should seek to exalt Christ in both lyrics and arrangement. Congregational singing will emphasize songs contained in the church hymnal.

Jesus Christ will soon return to this earth. The same Jesus who walked the roads of Palestine will come literally, physically, audibly and visibly to all people. His coming will mark the end of this world and is the blessed hope of His church.

Our Lord and Savior, Jesus, is calling each one of us! His desire is for us to spend all eternity with Him. He wants to be the center of your life and will give you new birth if you so choose. He will enable you to live life abundantly now and to have the assurance of eternal life with Him in His soon-coming heavenly kingdom.
